Our 2027 Himlung Himal itinerary is designed to give climbers the time, preparation, and support needed for a safe and enjoyable expedition. The journey begins in Kathmandu before travelling into the beautiful and less-visited Nar Phu Valley, where the gradual trek helps the team adjust naturally to the altitude. After reaching base camp, the expedition moves into the climbing phase, including acclimatisation rotations, technical preparation, and a flexible summit window based on weather and team readiness. Himlung is an excellent choice for climbers looking to progress beyond trekking peaks or prepare for larger Himalayan objectives. For those aiming to climb Everest or another 8,000-metre peak in the future, Himlung is an important first step. It provides valuable experience in expedition life, prolonged high-altitude exposure, climbing above 7,000 metres, using technical equipment, and working as part of a summit team. The expedition combines a rewarding ascent with dramatic mountain scenery, a culturally rich approach trek, and the confidence that comes from completing a true Himalayan expedition.

Cost Includes

✔1. Airport and hotel transfers in Kathmandu All scheduled transfers between Tribhuvan International Airport and your hotel in Kathmandu are included on arrival and departure. 2. Five nights’ accommodation in Kathmandu Five nights of twin-sharing accommodation in a comfortable Kathmandu hotel, including daily breakfast. Single-room accommodation may be available on request at an additional cost. 3. Ground transportation as per the itinerary All land transport required for the expedition, including travel between Kathmandu, Besisahar, Koto, and return, is included as stated in the itinerary. 4. Meals and accommodation during the trek and expedition Full-board service is provided from the start of the trek until the return to Kathmandu. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, accommodation, and hot drinking water during the trekking and expedition period. 5. Shared expedition equipment All necessary group equipment is included, such as Base Camp tents, kitchen equipment, cooking utensils, climbing ropes, and other shared expedition supplies. 6. Experienced climbing and support team The expedition is supported by professional climbing guides at a 1:2 guide-to-climber ratio, along with kitchen staff, porters, and a liaison officer. The team is responsible for expedition support, camp management, and climbing logistics. 7. Staff wages and equipment allowance Daily wages, food, accommodation, equipment allowance, and other required expenses for the Nepalese expedition staff are included. 8. Insurance for Nepalese staff Insurance coverage for the Nepali guides, porters, kitchen staff, and other support team members is included. 9. Permits and official paperwork All required expedition permits and paperwork are included, including the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and Himlung Himal climbing permit fee. 10. Emergency oxygen provision Emergency oxygen cylinders, masks, and regulators are available during the expedition if required. Oxygen used is chargeable at USD 500 per bottle. 11. Satellite phone communication Satellite phone access is available for essential communication from Base Camp. Usage is charged at USD 3 per minute. 12. Solar charging at Base Camp Solar panels are provided at Base Camp for charging cameras, phones, and computers, subject to weather and available power. 13. Garbage management deposit The required garbage deposit and waste-management fee are included to support responsible expedition practices and environmental protection. 14. First-aid medical kit A comprehensive group first-aid kit is carried by the expedition team for basic medical care and emergency support during the trek and climb. 15. GAF expedition gift items Each climber will receive a GAF trekking duffel bag, expedition cap, and trekking/climbing map. 16. Travel and rescue coordination In the event of an emergency, our team will assist with travel and rescue coordination. Any external rescue, helicopter, medical, or evacuation costs are payable by the client or their insurance provider. 17. Special farewell dinner A special farewell dinner in Kathmandu is included at the end of the expedition, providing an opportunity to celebrate the journey with the team.

Cost Excludes

✖1. International airfare International flights to and from Kathmandu are not included in the expedition cost. 2. Personal climbing equipment Personal climbing gear, clothing, footwear, sleeping bag, down suit, harness, crampons, ice axe, and other individual equipment are not included. 3. Meals in Kathmandu Lunches and dinners in Kathmandu are excluded, except for the welcome/farewell dinner included in the package. 4. Summit bonus A summit bonus of USD 500 is not included in the expedition cost. 5. Alcoholic drinks and personal beverages Alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, bottled beverages, and other personal refreshments during the trek and climbing period are excluded. 6. Personal expenses Expenses such as telephone calls, laundry, bar bills, room service, snacks, souvenirs, and other personal purchases are not included. 7. Costs caused by unforeseen circumstances Any additional expenses resulting from natural disasters, landslides, road blockages, flight delays, political disturbances, strikes, changes in government regulations, or other circumstances beyond our control are excluded. 8. Emergency medical and evacuation expenses Medical treatment, helicopter evacuation, rescue charges, hospital costs, and related emergency expenses are not included. Clients are strongly advised to have comprehensive travel and high-altitude rescue insurance. 9. Tips and gratuities Tips for climbing guides, porters, kitchen staff, Base Camp staff, drivers, and other support personnel are not included. 10. Items not listed under Cost Includes Any service, equipment, meal, transportation, or expense not specifically mentioned in the “Cost Includes” section is excluded. 11. GST and TCS GST and TCS will be charged separately at the applicable actual rates.

Other Uncertain Interruptions: Any unforeseen events that may disrupt the trek. Additional Costs: In the event of such disruptions, additional costs may be incurred for the following, which the participant will be responsible for: Emergency Transportation: Helicopter evacuations or alternative flight or road transportation arrangements may be necessary due to weather conditions or route closures. Accommodation Changes: If the original itinerary cannot be followed, we may need to make alternative accommodation arrangements. Insurance Premiums: While we recommend travel insurance to cover unforeseen expenses, please note that the cost of insurance is not included in our tour package. Participants must follow up with their insurance company for any disputes. We will assist with any required documentation or information from our organization but cannot guarantee insurance coverage. Other Uncertain Additional Expenses: Any unforeseen expenses that may arise due to disruptions. In the event of unexpected circumstances, we will provide support and assistance to help you navigate the situation. GAF’s Financial Considerations: As a professional and ethical adventure trek organizer, we typically pay our local suppliers in advance to ensure smooth operations. This means that in the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may not be able to obtain refunds from our suppliers. As a result, we may not be able to absorb additional costs that may arise due to such disruptions, and the participant will be responsible for these costs. Government Restrictions: Please note that government regulations or advisories may restrict access to certain areas due to adverse weather conditions or other safety concerns. If such restrictions are imposed during your trek, we may need to alter the itinerary or terminate the trek early. In such cases, we may not be able to provide a full refund. However, we remain committed to providing the best possible experience and will do everything within our power to assist you during any unforeseen challenges.
